On behalf of the National Executive Committee of the European Population Conference 2016 and the EAPS Council, it is our pleasure to invite you to attend our biennial meeting in Mainz, Germany. On this website you find all the practical information you will need to register for EPC 2016 as a participant. Also you will find information helping you to plan your stay in Mainz and make it as pleasant as possible.
More than 36,000 students at 10 faculties make the campus in Mainz to one of the biggest universities in Germany. The university is named after Johannes Gutenberg, who invented the printing press with movable type in Europe in the 15th century. His invention revolutionized book printing and was crucial for the development of science. Today Mainz is a growing young and lively city with a history that dates back 2,000 years. Those days the Romans started to cultivate grapes along the river Rhine, so Mainz is now located in one of the biggest German wine growing areas. Thus Mainz will be a culturally interesting surrounding for our conference.
Deadline for submissions of papers was December 15th 2015. Now we will organize an exciting scientific program and social events. In particular, we would like to encourage young scientists in being a part of this international conference. I am sure that the participation of all can be considered as valuable in many ways.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Mainz.
